Police: 2 NH men arrested following hit-and-run, assault on officer in Manchester
MANCHESTER — Two men were arrested after police were called to a hit-and-run Monday night.
Officers responded to a crash outside of the police headquarters at around 5:40 p.m. Monday night where a pick-up truck ran into the back of a sedan stopped at a red light on Valley Street, police said.
The driver of the sedan told police that the driver of the truck had walked away from the area.
Police found Jamie Martin, 56, of Manchester, asleep in the passenger seat in the truck. When an officer attempted to awake and question Martin he began shouting profanities and hit the officer twice with the passenger door, police said.
Martin was arrested for disorderly conduct and simple assault. He was released on bail and is scheduled to appear in Manchester District Court on July 19.
The driver of the truck was identified as Craig Martin, 52, of Manchester. Police found him at his home and arrested him for conduct after an accident, resisting arrest and habitual offender. He was also released on bail and is scheduled to appear in Manchester district court July 19.
