Police: 2 men stabbed at same time as latest reports of shots fired in Manchester
MANCHESTER - Two men were stabbed at the same time there were reports of gunshots in the area, but police have not made a connection between the two incidents.
Officers received reports Saturday at about 11 p.m. for a fight involving several people while other callers reported gunshots in the area of a 7-Eleven store at 85 South Main St. Some officers attended to the stabbing victims, while others located spent shell casings two blocks east of the store.
Officers also located several spent shell casings in the area of School and Third streets.
A 42-year-old male stabbing victim sustained a serious stab wound to his chest inside the parking lot of 7-Eleven and was taken to the hospital with serious, but non-life threatening injuries. A 20-year-old Manchester stabbing victim was also taken to the hospital for injuries sustained to his facial area. Police said he was treated and released.
This does not appear to be a random attack and investigators continue to follow-up on several leads regarding potential suspects in the stabbing incident.
The gunshot call also remains under investigation and it is unknown if it was related to the stabbing call. It does not appear that anything was struck by the bullets, however several spent shell casings were retrieved from the area.
