Police: 2 drunk NH moms found with babies in Salem mall parking lot, facing charges

SALEM — Two drunk mothers were arrested after police said they were intoxicated in the Mall at Rockingham Park's parking lot while taking care of their two infants.

One of the women was lying in a puddle while holding a small infant above her head, police said. Both females showed signs of intoxication and admitted to having consumed alcohol, according to police.

The two mothers were with their infant children, one who was 1-month-old and the other who was 4-months-old.

Officers said the women were barely able to stand, and were not able to care for infants.

Baylie Lecolst, 22 of Salem, and Amber Giordano, 24 of Hampstead, were taken into custody and charged with endangering the welfare of a child.

Lecolst and Giordano were both released on bail and are scheduled to appear in court on Oct. 31.

Both infants were released to the custody of family members. Juvenile investigators will work with N.H. Division of Children, Youth and Families and follow up on this case.
