Police: 2 arrested on felony drug possession charges following Manchester car crash


MANCHESTER - Police officers charged Queen City residents Starjuline Francis-Content, 25, and Shane Shaffer, 24, with felony drug possession after a car accident on Elm Street.

The two were reported to have been heading west on Elm Street toward the Queen City Bridge when officers noticed the 2001 Volvo they were riding in speed past them and run a red light. The officers turned their lights on and pursued the vehicle when they discovered it had crashed into a 2010 Nissan farther down the road.

According to police, Francis-Content was arrested on a prior warrant.

In the search incident to her arrest, officers reported she was in possession of .4 grams of crack cocaine and eight Clonazepam pills. Clonazepam is a powerful sedative designed to treat seizures, panic disorders and anxiety. Francis-Content was also charged with reckless conduct.

Furthermore, police reported finding a quantity of marijuana near Shaffer’s feet, as well as two more Clonazepam pills.

The driver of the Nissan was reported to be uninjured.
