Pittsfield could be the first NH town to legalize marijuana

PITTSFIELD - If Dan Schroth has his way, Pittsfield will be the first town in New Hampshire to legalize marijuana.

Of course, since marijuana is not legal at the state level, legalizing on a town warrant article would be symbolic.

According to the Concord Monitor, Schroth, who is running for selectmen, has been collecting signatures to get his petition warrant article on the ballot. He has been campaigning from his headquarters -- a parking space on Main Street.

Schroth's article also wants to reduce property taxes by taxing the legal production, sale and possession of marijuana.
