Pickup truck driver blamed for crash that sends SUV rolling on I-93

CONCORD - The driver of a pick-up truck is blamed for a crash that rolled a Toyota Rav 4 on Interstate 93 in Concord around 10 p.m. on Saturday night.

According to state police, the truck had been seen weaving in and out of traffic, cutting off other drivers at a high rate of speed. Both vehicles involved in the crash were initially driving south on Interstate 89 before entering I-93 heading north.

With the Toyota in the high speed lane and the truck coming up behind, the truck reportedly hit the SUV's rear passenger side, causing it to spin out of control and roll over multiple times. The pickup truck hit the guard rail and came to rest blocking the right breakdown lane and part of the travel lane, police said.

No one was injured, but the driver of the Dodge Ram pickup truck, Kristopher J. Cicchetto, 22, of Pembroke was charged with reckless operation and having an open container of alcohol in the truck. The interstate was closed for about 10 minutes to allow the vehicles to be towed.

The accident remains under investigation. Anyone with information about the crash is urged to contact Trooper Anthony Pratt at 603-223-4381.
