The New Hampshire State Police Forensic Laboratory analyzed butane honey oil on June 14.
These concentrated marijuana/THC extracts, also known as BHO or dabs, are secretly produced, giving little peer-reviewed literature with analytical data to use for comparison analysis, police said.
Members set up an outdoor laboratory to conduct the analysis due to the flammable nature of the materials.
The aim was to determine whether these plant extracts could be differentiated from marijuana extracts using the analytical instruments available in the laboratory, police added.
The experiment included hops, spruce and a variety of solvents.
