Pedestrian injured after being hit by car in Hudson

HUDSON - A pedestrian was hit by a car and injured on Webster Street just before 8 p.m. Friday.

Police say the woman was walking west across Webster Street at the intersection with Sunland Drive when she was hit by a man heading north on Webster driving a Jeep Wrangler. The woman was taken to Southern New Hampshire Medical Center with serious but non life-threatening injuries.

Police say the accident remains under investigation but that drugs, alcohol and speed do not appear to be factors.

Police say nearby residents and passing motorists helped police by blocking the roadway and providing first aid to the victim before emergency personnel arrived.

Part of Webster Street was closed for about an hour after the accident.
