PHOENIX (AP) Jake Peavy got his first win of the season, Buster Posey drove in four runs, and the San Francisco Giants beat the Arizona Diamondbacks 8-4 on Saturday night for their fifth straight victory.
The win gave San Francisco its 10th straight series victory in Arizona. The Giants haven't won this many series in a row on the road since they took 13 straight against the Boston Beaneaters/Doves from 1903 to 1907.
The Diamondbacks, two games into a 10-game homestand, have lost five straight since climbing to .500.
Posey drove in three with a pair of singles and added an RBI sacrifice fly.
Peavy (1-4), making his fifth start of the season and third after missing all of May and June with a back strain, allowed four runs and eight hits in 6 1/3 innings.
The Diamondbacks' Chase Anderson (4-4) had his shortest outing of the season. In 3 2/3 innings, he allowed seven runs on 10 hits, nine of them singles. Singles accounted for 13 of San Francisco's 14 hits.
Sergio Romo pitched the final 1 1/3 innings for his first save of the season.
Matt Duffy had three hits, drove in two runs and scored twice for the Giants. Brandon Crawford had a two-run single in San Francisco's four-run third inning.
David Peralta homered and hit his third triple in the last two nights for Arizona. Cliff Pennington, whose throwing error in the 12th allowed the winning run in San Francisco 6-5 victory Friday night, hit his first home run of the season and second career pinch-hit homer.
Posey brought two home with a bases-loaded single in the third, and Crawford drove in two more with a two-out single.
Andrew Susak led off the fourth with a triple, the Giants' lone extra-base hit, and scored on Angel Pagan's sacrifice fly. Posey's two-out RBI single put San Francisco up 6-1 and ended Anderson's night. David Hernandez came on in relief and allowed an RBI single to Hunter Pence on his first pitch.
Pennington, the last batter Peavy faced, hit a solo home run to cut the lead to 7-4 in the seventh. Posey's RBI single off Enrique Burgos boosted the lead to 8-4 in the eighth.
Giants: Susak left in the bottom of the fourth after injuring his right thumb sliding into third on his triple. X-rays were negative and the injury was diagnosed as a sprain ... Manager Bruce Bochy said a CT scan showed Nori Aoki's fractured right fibula is 80 percent healed and he expects the outfielder to be able to begin baseball activity in about two weeks.
Giants: San Francisco sends ace Madison Bumgarner (9-5, 3.33 ERA) to the mound with the Giants seeking a sweep of the three-game series and their sixth straight win overall.
Diamondbacks: LHP Patrick Corbin (1-1, 5.40) makes his third start since coming back from Tommy John surgery.
