Patriots prepare to take on Redskins for first time since 2011 regular season

FOXBOROUGH - The Patriots face the Redskins this week for the first time in the regular season since 2011, although they held joint practices last preseason. Redskins are coming off a bye week.

"They're one of the best teams on third down, short yardage around the NFL. You know, they've got a good group of guys up front," said wide receiver, Brandon LaFell when asked about the Redskins' defense.

And their offense will get a spark as they plan to have wide receiver DeSean Jackson back from his hamstring injury.

"He's a huge dynamic [piece]," said defensive back Devin McCourty. "Just a guy that can do everything on the field. He really runs every route. Obviously the top concern is him beating you deep."

The Patriots lead the league in points per game. Today Tom Brady was asked about Rob Gronkoswki and he success with the seam route

"He gives great body language when he runs, and I can really tell when he really starts to accelerate and he feels like he can run by the guy that is on him," said Brady. "And even the throw I made the other night to him, it wasn't even really a great throw, but because he was by him so far, he was able to adjust."

Patriots and Redskins kickoff at Gillette Sunday at 1pm. Binnie Media radio will be carrying the games on LNH.
