Patriots need to go back to basics

The beard is gone, as Tom Brady revealed in his weekly paid Boston radio appearance on Monday. Unfortunately, the problems that plagued the New England Patriots and their quarterback are still around – at least for now. We’ll see if they are corrected by this Sunday in Minneapolis. Sunday was a rare day in the NFL where the Jets, Bills, and Dolphins all won, and the Patriots are looking up. Ah, early season blues. But there was no mistaking the Patriots’ obvious inability to execute, as coach Bill Belichick referred to, “the fundamentals.” Former longtime Londonderry High School coach Tom Sawyer always said football, when broken down, is a simple game of two things.
