Patriots fans thrilled with comeback win
MANCHESTER - The Patriots faced off against a familiar opponent Saturday. The Ravens are the last team to beat the Patriots at home in the playoffs. After a week off fans were feeling confident.
"I think we got it," said Patriots fan Scott Menns.
But the game got off to a rough start and the Patriots were down 14 points early. Fans got anxious as the team went into halftime trailing by 7.
"It definitely shows that they took two weeks off. It shows that they're playing a little soft but I guarantee the second half Belichick will have them ready," said Patriots fan Alyssa Thayer.
And that's exactly what happened. The Patriots offense surged in the second half, highlighted by a trick play where Julian Edelman threw a touchdown pass to a wide open Danny Amendola.
"That's been in the playbook all year and they finally pulled it out. I'm sure Edelman has been wanting to throw that all year," said Patriots fan Karl Stone.
And in the end the defense held and a late game interception sealed the win for the Patriots. It will be their fourth straight trip to the AFC Championship and some fans have revenge on their mind.
"Of course we want to face the Broncos. There's nothing we would like more than to go against Peyton Manning in the next round," said Patriots fan Jesse Jean.
The Patriots face the winner of the Broncos-Colts game on Sunday. New England will host the winner January 18 at 6:40 PM.
