Part of fallen soldier memorial stolen from Webster home

WEBSTER- Bill Tracy, Sr. made a disappointing discovery last Saturday morning.

When he pulled out of his driveway, he noticed a bald eagle statue had been stolen out of his front yard. The statue is part of a memorial honoring the service men and women from New Hampshire who have died in the line of the duty.

For Tracy, that also includes his own son; US Army Sgt. William Tracy, Jr. who died in a helicopter crash in Iraq in 2003.

Tracy did not call police, he says he doesn't expect the statue to be returned. He says when he found it at a flea market, he thought of his son. He hopes he may have a similar experience and be able to replace what was taken.

Neighbors are upset because they say everyone in town knows about the memorial and what it means. Many hope the person who took it might return it anonymously.
