Parade from Boscawen to Concord honors law enforcement, first responders

BOSCAWEN - The sounds of bagpipes filled the air on Main Street this morning for the annual parade to honoe police, fire, EMTs and corrections officials.
It's a tradition that dates back to the early 1900s and still continues to this day. Originally focusing on Concord police and firefighters, the parade now honors all current and retired local law enforcement, fire and rescue personnel from Merrimack County.
The parade started in lower Boscawen near the Penacook Rescue Squad and headed through Penacook Square, stopping at the Woodlawn Cemetery for a brief ceremony, before heading south and ending at Concord's Manor Station for light refreshments.
