Owner of controversial Manchester signage held in Rockingham County jail
MANCHESTER - The man behind controversial signs attacking prominent leaders is in jail, according to Plaistow police who say a judge ordered him placed behind bars on Thursday.
Michael Gill is the owner of Mortgage Specialists Inc. where his electronic billboard faces out on South Willow Street. He was in court on Thursday when a Rockingham County judge ordered him held at the jail.
Gill, who hosts a radio show called State of Corruption with a Facebook page of the same name, posted on Facebook Thursday night: "Mike Gill was jailed for contempt by Judge LeFrancois. The judge ruled that Gill couldn't record the hearing and was unwilling to accept evidence."
David G. LeFrancois presides over cases in the Rockingham County Family Division. The case involving Gill and LeFrancois appears unrelated to Gill's behavior in Manchester.
Gill has posted messages on his Manchester signs for years, calling for the removal of elected leaders and posted obscenities referring to politicians including Sens. Jeanne Shaheen and Kelly Ayotte.
Most recently he accused two prominent businessmen of being "drug dealers" on the electronic signboard.
