Owner of Candia's Liquid Planet Water Park chains self to slide after bank foreclosure

CANDIA - The owner of Liquid Planet Water Park was chained himself to the top of a one of his water slide towers.

In a Facebook post, Kevin Dumont said he's doing it in an attempt to save the park from auction, scheduled for Dec. 2.

He's hoping to raise money, and said he's welcoming company, though, too.

Liquid Planet drew public attention in August after a judge issued a temporary restraining order, closing its "speed slides" attraction until the park gets required design approvals from the state.

The Department of Environmental Services said water samples taken from the speed slides had unsanitary levels of coliform bacteria. It also said the park opened the slides without first obtaining design approval from the department.
