Owen Labrie to be set free on bail, will have to wear GPS monitor
CONCORD — A New Hampshire prep school graduate convicted of sexually assaulting a 15-year-old freshman girl as part of a game of sexual conquest called Senior Salute will be set free on bail.
A judge reinstated bail but Owen Labrie will have to wear an electronic monitor with GPS. He will stay behind bars until that is set up.
Labrie had been free while he appealed his conviction but a judge revoked his bail in March after he admitted violating his curfew. He appealed that decision to the state Supreme Court, which last week sent the matter back to the trial court.
The hearing was on Monday at Merrimack County Superior Court.
Labrie is from Tunbridge, Vermont. He was arrested in 2014 days after graduating from St. Paul's School in Concord.
He testified he and the girl had consensual sexual contact but denied having intercourse with her.
