Ossipee teen charged in rash of car thefts from Tamworth and Ossipee homes
OSSIPEE - A local teen was arrested Saturday night and charged in connection with a string of car thefts in Ossipee and Tamworth.
Josiah Philibert, 19, has been charged with theft, attempted theft, receiving stolen property, unauthorized use of a propelled vehicle, burglary, criminal trespass, criminal mischief, driving with a revoked or suspended license and breach of bail.
He is suspected in a series of car thefts from area homes over the course of four days. Police say most of the vehicles have been recovered.
Philibert was held on cash bail at the Carroll County jail and is scheduled to be arraigned in the 3rd Circuit Court, District Division- Ossipee on Monday.
The case remains under investigation and anyone with information about the thefts is asked to call Sgt. Tony Castaldo of the Ossipee Police Department, Sgt.
