Operation Santa Claus falls victim to theft in Concord

CONCORD - Police are looking for a Grinch who stole gift cards donated to Operation Santa Claus for distribution to kids during the holidays.

Police say the gift cards, with a total value of about $3,000, were stolen from a state-owned van, locked in a garage on Stickney Avenue.

Someone broke a window to gain access to the garage sometime between Nov. 25 and 30.

Several other items, including a hammer drill, nail gun and electric saw also were stolen. Several packaged gifts may also be missing.

An inventory of stolen items is currently being conducted, police said.

Anyone with information that could assist police in their investigation is asked to call state Trooper Mark Magoon at 271-3636.
