One week later: Reward grows for help finding Denise Robert's killer

MANCHESTER - One week after Denise Robert was shot walking in the North End, the potential reward for anyone who helps police identify her killer has grown to $25,000.

According to the Union Leader, Robert's sister and brother-in-law, Francoise Elise and Michael Guidi of Boston, pledged $5,000 to the reward pool for tips that help solve the crime.

“It is a heinous act that has brutally taken the life of an innocent, decent sister and woman, that has caused great grief to her family and stained the integrity of the neighborhood of North Manchester,” the couple said in a statement.

Robert, 62, a long-time employee of The Union Leader and Neighborhood News was found shot and killed on Sunday night a week ago. She'd been out taking a walk.

Elise said her sister did not deserve what happened to her.

“The lingering shroud of this unsolved mystery makes the notion that this can now happen to anyone more real than ever,” she said.

The shooting remains under investigation.
