One of the first female combat soldiers comes from the Granite State
DOVER — One of the first female U.S. Marine Corps combat soldiers hails from the seacoast.
Katelen (KiKi) Van Aken graduated from Dover High School last June and was already planning on going into the military, according to Foster's.
Because of a changed rule that now allows women in basic combat, Van Aken is now able to pursue her military dream in infantry.
Van Aken comes from a military background with both sides of her family in the military, helping lead her to this dream that will make her part of history history.
