One dead after multiple crashes shut down I-93 Northbound

LONDONDERRY — A series of car accidents on I-93 left one person dead and sent multiple people to the hospital Friday.
Londonderry Fire said they initially responded to a single-car crash at about 7:17 p.m. at mile marker 15.8.
N.H. State Police also responded and said upon arrival they found a vehicle had lost control and crashed into the guardrail.
The driver, Julia Melendez, 22 of Mattapan, Massachusetts, was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene.
A passenger, 21-year-old Karina Feliz, of Bradford, Massachusetts, was transported to Elliott Hospital for the treatment of minor injuries.
A child passenger was also taken by ambulance to Elliott Hospital before being flown by helicopter to Boston Children’s Hospital for what police called "serious but stable injuries."

As Londonderry Fire and N.H. State Police were responding to the first accident, another call came in reporting a multi-car accident on the bridge over Exit 5 at mile marker 15.2.
One person had to be transported to the hospital as a result of the crash.
The Northbound side of the highway was briefly closed as crews cleaned up the scenes.
