Officials say tiny homes for NH veterans provided by Lee man violates local ordinances
LEE — A Lee man who found himself homeless after serving as a Marine in Vietnam is trying to pay it forward by providing tiny homes for combat veterans, but officials are taking him to court saying he is violating local ordinances.
Peter Macdonald has four mini-houses on his Stepping Stones Road property and a house that is used as a chapel.
Officials said this is a zoning violation because the property is located in a residential district. They are also concerned because they said Macdonald doesn't have the appropriate electrical or plumbing permits.
Macdonald said he is running a religious organization and is doing nothing wrong.
Macdonald argued his case at Strafford County Superior Court Wednesday afternoon.
