Officials: Man arrested in Portsmouth after crashing car following police chase

STRATHAM — A man was arrested after leading officials on a car chase through multiple towns, police said.

Robert T. Hanlin, 41, of Alexander N.Y., was arrested after police said he crashed his car in Portsmouth after fleeing from police in Exeter on Tuesday night.

Police pursued the suspect's vehicle, which started in Exeter, and continued through Stratham and then crashed in Portsmouth near the intersection of Middle Road and Spinney Road, they said. Hanlin was arrested after continuing to flee on foot.

He has been charged with disobeying an officer, reckless operation, aggravated driving while intoxicated, and conduct after an accident.
