Officials: Keene man broke tibia of baby boy during beating


KEENE — Keene police, with the help of the NH Division of Child, Youth and Family, arrested a man for beating an baby boy - less than a year old- and breaking his left tibia, officials said.

The investigation led to the arrest of Derek Forcier, 24 of Keene, charging him with first-degree assault, a felony. He was arrested without incident.

Police said the assault allegedly happened sometime on or around Sept. 7. Forcier's relationship to the infant is unknown at this time.

He was released on $15,000 personal recognizance bail and is scheduled to appear in court on Oct. 6.
