Officials investigating fatal Manchester shooting, Ray and Carpenter streets closed off

MANCHESTER - Police were called to a reported shooting near Ray and Carpenter streets Sunday night at about 9:15 p.m.

Police found a woman in her early 30s with gun shot wounds in the grass according to reports.

She was later pronounced dead at the scene.

Neighbors said they are shocked and say this sort of thing does not happen in the quiet neighborhood, and police have shut down both Ray and Carpenter streets.

There are no suspects at this time, but multiple people reported a red pick up driving quickly from the area at the time of the incident.

The police said Monday that the Attorney General's office has taken control of the case.
