Officials identify NH driver whose truck fell through ice while towing bob house
ALTON - Officials have identified the driver who lost his truck after it fell through thin ice on Lake Winnipesaukee while trying to tow a bob house.
Everyone involved escaped injury after the truck driven by Scott Johnson, 46 of New Durham, hit thin ice on the north end of Sandy Point just after noon on Sunday. Fish and Game Lt. Michael Eastman said Sunday that he was unsure how many people had been inside the truck when it went into the water.
Arrangements were being made to remove the truck from the lake. It was scheduled to get pulled out at about 7 a.m. Monday.
While dealing with the truck, Fish and Game received a second call around 1 p.m. for a plane that flipped over on the ice runway.
