Nottingham school bus driver accused of texting, crashing bus with 11 students on board, indicted


NOTTINGHAM - Stephanie Boyd, the woman accused of crashing a school bus into a tree because she was texting, was indicted on assault charges.

Boyd was driving the school bus with 11 students on board in February when it crashed into the tree. Three children were seriously injured.

One 12-year-old girl suffered a broken jaw, facial nerve damage and lacerations.

Boyd is facing one count of second-degree assault, one count reckless conduct, one count endangering the welfare of a child and two counts of simple assault.

Boyd was fired and her license to operate a bus was revoked shortly after the accident.
