Northwood man cited for crashing car into Maine home

ACTON, Maine (AP) — A New Hampshire man has been cited for leaving the scene of an accident after police say he crashed his pickup truck into a southern Maine home and then fled the state.

Police say 46-year-old Aaron Lizotte of Northwood admitted to officers that he crashed into a home in Acton on Saturday night, fled and then left the car in the woods on property he owns in Wakefield, N.H. A York County sheriff's sergeant found the truck Sunday after following tire tracks.

Police say crash destroyed the home's stairs, temporarily trapping an elderly woman on the second floor. The crash caused $40,000 in damage.

A phone listing for Lizotte could not be found on Monday.
