Northfield police bust suspected heroin, crack dealer; 78 grams of drugs confiscated

NORTHFIELD - A suspected heroin and crack cocaine dealer was arrested Monday, police said.

After an investigation following a tip regarding the sale of drugs out of a local residence, Northfield police said they executed a search warrant leading to the arrest of Ashley Sargent, 26.

Police said they found 55 grams of suspected heroin and 23 grams of suspected crack cocaine (an approximate street value of $9,000), $700 in cash and loaded rifle in the home.

Stolen property - including a Polaris ATV and electronics, various other prescription medications including Suboxone strips, items used to package the drugs for sale, and a large amount of packaged hypodermic needles were also found, they said.

Sargent is charged with receiving stolen property, possession of a controlled drug, and possession of a controlled drug with the intent to distribute - all Class A felonies.

She was held on $1,000 cash and $10,000 personal recognizance bail.
