Junior punter/place-kicker Shane Grayson was named the Northeast-10 Special Teams Player of the Week , the conference office announced Monday afternoon.

Grayson drilled a 38-yard field goal with 3:26 left in the contest to cap a run of 16 unanswered points and lift the Hawks to a season-opening 23-22 come-from-behind victory at Bowie State University on Saturday. It was the first season-opening win for Saint Anselm since 2005. In addition to a pair of extra points, Grayson also averaged 42.1 yards on eight punts, including a school-record 70-yard boot in the opening quarter.

The Hawks return to action Saturday at noon when they travel to take on Southern Connecticut State University.
