No jail time for Hampton driver in fatal car crash

A Hampton woman who hit and killed a Massachusetts man will not serve jail time.

Danielle Kooyoomjian, 30, of Hampton, was sentenced to two to four years in State Prison on Monday but that sentence is suspended as long as she completes an alcohol treatment program and has good behavior.

Kokoyoomijian also had her license suspended for 5 years.

She was originally charged with negligent homicide for the October 13, 2013, crash that killed Chuck Sayre.

But she pleaded guilty to felony reckless conduct charge and a driving while intoxicated charge. Because assistant county attorney Karen Springer said she couldn't prove the negligent homicide.

There will be a restitution hearing next month. The victim's family has asked for payment to cover Sayre's funeral and other costs.
