This story really hit home for a lot of Granite Staters.
With the opioid epidemic in full force in October, Eve Tarmey seemed too young to die in such a way.
But the community said others had failed her -- her mother, the school system, and the community itself.
More details came to light after her death, of course.
Three people were arrested - including her mother, Jazzmyn Rood, and her mom's boyfriend Mark Ross.
Police say Rood - who has posted ads online as an escort - was in the motel room where Eve died after taking fentanyl Ross gave her.
The community is still hurting, her friends are mourning, and since her October death - the Granite State has been hurting.
