NJ man arrested, allegedly used stolen credit cards to buy items from Nashua stores

NASHUA - A New Jersey man accused of using a false identity and stolen credit cards to buy merchandise in Nashua area stores is under arrest.

Police say they first picked up Ofelito Lora, 26, of 215 Chandler Ave. in Roselle, N.J. on Feb. 14 after they were alerted by the Guitar Center that the man, already suspected of credit card fraud, was in their store.

They subsequently learned he had used a credit card to purchase an item at Modell's and found multiple fraudulent credit cards on him during the booking process. During the investigation, police say they found other merchandise they believe was fraudulently obtained by Lora.

Lora faces charges of attempted theft by deception and forgery. He was held at the Hillsborough County jail on $20,000 cash-only bail and was arraigned on Wednesday in Nashua District Court.

Anyone with more information about this incident is asked to contact the Nashua Crime Line at 589-1665.
