Nipple freed: Women who went topless on Gilford beach won't face charges

NH1.com

GLIFORD - The N.H. women who were ticketed for going topless at a Gilford town beach will no longer face charges.

A judge ruled that there is no state law prohibiting the exposure of the female breast in public, and claims the town lacked the authority for criminal charges.

The "Free the Nipple" movement sparked a Facebook spat between lawmakers about a bill that would make it a misdemeanor for women to expose their breasts in public.
