Night traffic to slow as bridge removed along Interstate 293 in Manchester

The Associated Press

MANCHESTER (AP) — The New Hampshire Department of Transportation is planning to demolish a bridge on Interstate 293 in Manchester.

Workers are planning to remove the Exit 4 northbound off-ramp overpass bridge.

I-293 lane closures are expected to take place nightly from Sunday, Jan. 17, through Thursday, Jan. 21, from 8 p.m. until 5 a.m. I-293 northbound and southbound will have complete closures to traffic twice an hour, in 15-minute intervals from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m.

Drivers are advised to use Route 101 East to Interstate 93 North instead.

This work is part of the I-293 widening and bridge replacement project in the vicinity of Exit 4. It includes the replacement of four "Red Listed" bridges and the rehabilitation of one "Red Listed" bridge at the I-293 Exit 4 Interchange.
