NHMS kicks off the holiday season with 5th Annual Light Show

LOUDON - It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas at the New Hampshire Motor Speedway as the Gift of Lights event kicked off yet another holiday season Friday night.

"We were really impressed it was immense. We didn't think it was going to be as big as it was so it was great. The kids loved it." Said one family traveling all the way down from North Conway to see the light show.

Beginning at the South Gate of the speedway, visitors can drive a two mile distance around the track while watching a light show consisting of over two million bulbs in about 400 different holiday displays.

Winding around the outside of the track's grandstands, through the infield tunnel, and down VIP street, gave visitors a chance to experience the stadium in a new light.

"Just the wow-factor of driving into the infield is pretty amazing," Jonathan Stallsmith, NHMS' Digital Media Manager shared with excitement.

Stallsmith stated that the event will bring in more than 100,000 visitors throughout the holiday season with a portion of the proceeds going towards New Hampshire Motor Speedway Charities.

After the lightshow, visitors can visit 'Santa's workshop' in the main office where children can sit on Mr. Clause's lap and get their picture taken.

A fire pit with smore's provided by members of the event are also held at the end of the Gift of Lights event.
