NH1 Weather Insider with meteorologist Bill Gile for December 20, 2015

Here we go again, another warm up is on the way! However, today will still be a bit chilly although not quite as windy as Saturday was.

High pressure will move south of New England today with sunshine and lighter NW winds shifting to the W during the afternoon. Highs will be in the 30's to near 40 as the cooler pool of air will be lifting out. As the high pulls off the east coast Monday a warmer SW wind develops. This SW wind flow will be the dominant wind direction for much of the week directing milder air back into the Northeast. Clouds which will be on the increase on Monday as a low will track N & W of New England.

Even though temperatures will be climbing back into the 50's next week, this warm up will not be pretty. There will be considerable cloud cover in this SW flow aloft up the east coast . Another warm front will approach Wednesday, which will provide the chance of showers. This warm front will push through so by Thursday..The day before will be the warmest day of the week with highs in the 50's to low 60s in spots ahead of an approaching cold front. We may even approach record warmth for some. The cold front will push through Christmas morning and High temperatures will be reached at dawn. Even though temperatures will fall through the day under gusty NW winds, it wont become all that much colder until Friday night. Temperatures on Christmas afternoon will settle back into the 40's with partly sunny skies.

Have a great weekend!
