NH1 Weather Insider with Joe Joyce: September 12, 2015

NH1 Chief Meteorologist

A cool crisp start to Saturday with sunshine, light northerly winds and temps in the 50's at dawn. Sunrise comes up at 6:22 AM with a beautiful clean crisp air in place. Perfect for an early morning jog! Sunshine will hold for most of the day, but some clouds will begin to increase during the afternoon. Highs will be in the 70's near 80 inland with cooler SE onshore winds cooling the coast into the Lwr 70's. Clouds will continue to thicken Saturday night as an approaching cold front will be pressing towards New England. A wave of low pressure will develop on this front with another batch of showers which will be spreading into New Hampshire during the later evening hours Saturday night. This slow moving low will pretty much sit right over us Sunday producing abundant cloud cover with periodic showers on and off through the course of the day and through the night. There will be parts of Sunday where it will be just cloudy, then other times...a few showers will be passing through. Either way, it's not the the greatest of days and highs will be pretty much stuck in the 60's with the clouds and cool onshore wind. The upper low will sit right over us through Monday helping to keep a lot of clouds around, a few scattered pop up showers will be possible and seasonally cool temps in the 60's and Lwr 70's. Once this upper level low pulls away, we are golden! A huge upper level ridge develops with sunshine and warm temps into the Lwr 80's running about 10 degrees above normal. So summer is not over yet! But time is ticking! Days are getting shorter by 2 minutes and 53 seconds every day! The Autumnal Equinox is right around the corner arriving September 23rd at 4:22 AM. As any good Red Sox fan knows....It's Not Over! You gotta believe!
