High pressure returns for Wednesday with sunshine, light NW wind, low humidity, and highs in the 70's. A wonderful outdoor day. A few passing high clouds Wednesday night. We will be dry through Thursday with high pressure parked off the coast, and a warmer southerly wind at the surface which will push temperatures to near 80 by the afternoon. Expect sunny to partly sunny skies, as clouds will be on the increase during the afternoon ahead of an approaching cold front. This front could trigger a brief passing shower late Thursday night or early Friday, but I am not expecting much. Once this front pulls off the coast early Friday morning, more beautiful sunshine will return with building high pressure as we kick off the weekend. Winds will again be from the NW, so I expect it to be a bit cooler and crisp across the north country on Friday into Friday night with highs in upper 60's and the Lwr 70's, but downsloping and warming drying winds off the mountains will warm the coastal plain into the mid 70's.
High pressure will again drift over us and eventually off the coast Saturday. This will be the pick day of the weekend with mostly sunny skies and highs well into the 70's with winds shifting back to the SW. We will have to watch Father's day,as it does not look like the best day. The remnants of tropical storm Bill will become involved in the pattern by this time. The rain and moisture will be directed into the Northeast by Sunday and with a low riding up along a cold front which will take all day to push through. This could front will trigger scattered showers and thunderstorms. It will be a warm humid day in the 70's near 80. Because of the tropical nature of the environment, heavier downpours will be possible Sunday really at any point during the morning and afternoon. Sorry Dad, but you golf game will be best Saturday.
Another weak high will bring more sunshine by Monday, with another weak low to bring the risk of a few more showers for Tuesday. We will tackle that when we get closer. For now, many good days ahead so let's make them count. June is already flying along in case you have not noticed!
