NH1 Weather Insider with Joe Joyce: Bill's Leftovers for Dad
NH1 Chief Meteorologist
We will be waking up to clouds Friday morning, along with the risk of a passing isolated shower around 5 AM-7 AM Friday. Don't worry. It's will be just a passing cold front which will be quickly moving offshore during the morning. Clouds will stick around through about 10 AM before they start to breaks and clearing skies with dry air begins to settle in for the lunch hour through the afternoon. NW breezes will warm SNH to near 80 degrees by 3-4 PM, and even warm the beaches into the mid-upper 70's. Friday afternoon will be absolutely amazing as high pressure settles in over us with lighter winds as the sun begins to set. With clear skies, light winds and dry air...Friday night will be a bit crisp with lows dropping into the 40's for most overnight. Look for Venus, Jupiter and the Crescent moon in the western evening sky the next few nights. Early Saturday morning will get off to a cool start, but sunshine will be warming temps right back into the 70's for the afternoon. Winds will be light from the SSE, so temps could be slightly cooler in the Lwr 70's at the beaches.
Sunday is a big day not only for dads, but also for summer lovers! The Summer Solstice officially arrives at 12:39 PM Sunday. The longest day of year with our sun setting at 8:30 in the evening. Sunday will be a more active day of weather as the remnants of Tropical storm Bill will be arriving in the Northeast. A more humid day with the potential for scattered showers at any point of the day will be possible...but it wont be raining the whole time. The problem is when it does rain, it could come down heavily. A cold front will approach by the end of the day, with a developing low along it. This will likely come with scattered thunderstorms and the potential for some heavier rain as well. If downpours materialize, and the chances are good...some could see up to 1" of rain. The low will quickly push through for improving weather on Monday with seasonal temperatures near 80. Another front will sweep through Tuesday with drier pleasant air in the 70's returning for the midweek. Happy Father's Day guys! Keep up the good work!
