NH1 Weather Insider with Joe Joyce: April 30, 2015

NH1 Chief Meteorologist - NH1.com

Clouds will be the rule the next two days, along with light cool NE winds which will keep it cooler at the beach. Inland temperatures will be slightly warmer away from the cooler marine air. The Upper low is finally beginning to pull away, so a more stable airmass will begin to work into the region just in time for the weekend! Plenty of sunshine can be expected this weekend with moderating temperatures. Saturday will see temps in the Lwr-mid 60's, while Sunday will see many communities climb to near 70 in the sunshine.

The deep trough which has been so persistent over us for the past week is pulling out and the jetstream will begin to flatten with an upper level ridge shifting to the east which allow temperatures to really warm up heading into next week! But it may not be completely perfect. After spending the day in the 70's Monday, a cold front will approach late in the day and could trigger a late day shower or thunderstorm. This front will stall over us Tuesday. Weak low pressure will track along this front with scattered showers and thunderstorms during the afternoon with temperatures in the 60's and 70's. As this front pushes through, temperatures will remain mild and dry through the middle of next week. We will have to watch next weekend for the potential for some wet weather, but it is so far away the forecast will continue to change.

Below is the Climate Prediction Center's forecast for probability for above normal temperatures for May 6th through May 10th. Obviously, that is a good sign that warmer air is heading our way for this time period. We will have to watch the placements of fronts, which can mean a big difference from 70's or 60's....and for those craving summer weather...the difference will be huge. Either way, much warmer times are a comin' and soon all the trees will be green and the flowers will be blooming! Hello May!
