NH1 Weather Insider with Joe Joyce: April 10, 2015

NH1 Chief Meteorologist- NH1.com

Sad to see the impacts of the damaging tornadoes in Illinois and Texas from last night. Seeing the damage that storms like that can do, always makes me take pause and reaffirms my belief in the importance of accurate and timely forecasts and broadcasts which can save lives in moments like this. Knowing how to stay safe when weather turns violent is just as important.

Luckily, out weather pattern has nothing like this. These tornadoes kind of make our complaining about the cold and a few inches of snow sound kind of weak huh? Anyway, Showers accompany a warm front early Friday morning. Showers will eventually lift away and the warm front should pass through New Hampshire during the midday. Winds will shift to the SW behind the warm front and temperatures will begin to climb into the Lwr 50's. Low clouds will remain locked in over us, but I can not rule out a few breaks by the afternoon. Late in the day and early evening a cold front will push through. This may come with a few showers as well. No biggie. Consider it all "atmospheric house cleaning". It is all part of saying goodbye to this historic winter and a warm welcome to more consistently warm spring temperatures!

Saturday will feature a breezy mix of sun and a few afternoon clouds. Highs will be in the mid 50's. Sunday will be the better, brighter and warmer of the 2 weekend days. High pressure will slide south of New England and direct a warmer West wind which will push temeperatures to near 60! Mondat will be even warmer in the mid 60's warmer air will continue to flood into the Northeast under SW winds. A few showers will be possible Monday night or early Tuesday...but behind those raindrops will come another big high to provide more sun and spring temps in the Lwr-mid 60's. It is a warm pattern which will take us through the 17th. There are some signals it could get a tad cooler around April 23rd-25th...but hey...Winter is over. It is time to rejoice, celebrate and soak up some sunshine! Have a great wekend!
