NH1 Weather Insider with Cyrena Arnold for Feb. 21, 2016
It's hard to believe it's still February with how nice it felt on Saturday. Temperatures soared into the 50's with a few southern locations even seeing 60 degrees!
That warm air is going away as we have our winds come from a more northerly direction for the next few days, but we will warm up again slightly on Wednesday as the next storm approaches mid-week.
Expect partly cloudy skies on Sunday morning with temperatures reaching the mid 40's, maybe even 50 near Boston. As the day progresses, clouds will increase a little, and our lows will drop into the 20's. Northern locations could see the teens by early Monday morning. Locations south of Boston may see some rain or snow showers early Monday as a storm passes well to our south.
Monday will be similar but slightly cooler, with highs in the mid to upper 30's under sunny skies. It will be a colder one come Monday night with temperatures dropping into the teens and even a few northern spots seeing singe digits by Tuesday morning. By Tuesday afternoon, temperatures will be back in the 30's and our clouds will be increasing throughout the day.
By Wednesday we will see some changes move in. We will warm up again as the winds shift from the south, so most areas will reach the 40's by mid-day with increasing clouds. With these clouds comes the chance of evening and overnight snow showers, but it will change to mostly rain by Thursday with highs again in the 40's. Areas that don't warm up as quickly, such as low lying valleys, may see some freezing rain, a lot like that storm we saw last week.
By Friday, we cool off and calm down again with highs in the 30's and lows in the teen's and 20's under mostly sunny skies.
