NH1 Weather Insider: Weekend Beauty

NH1 Chief Meteorologist

It has been a nice mini summer warm up. Quite frankly, I barely noticed it. It really takes temperatures in the 90's with dewpoints in the 60's before I start grimace. For now, Friday will have to do for the summer lovers who crave the warmth. Partly sunny skies will start Friday with light SW winds at the surface. Highs will again climb into the middle to upper 80's by afternoon as clouds will be increasing. A stalled front south of New England will begin to lift northward Friday night as a warm front. Dewpoints will start off comfortable, but then a more humid feel will develop by the end of the day and evening as this warm front begins to lift into New Hampshire. Mostly cloudy skies develop for the afternoon, with even the risk of a late day shower along this front. A wave of low pressure will track right through New England Friday Night and bring an increased risk for scattered showers and thunderstorms with the potential for some heavier downpours. It won't be raining most of the time Friday night, but if under a few of these downpours it will be pouring. Heaviest rain appears to fall across the far north country again. Lows on Friday night will remain mild near 70 overnight.

By Saturday, the low is pulling off the coast and a cold front will be pushing off the coast as well. Winds will be shifting to the NW with a much more comfortable and refreshing airmass. After a few early morning clouds Saturday, I expect mostly sunny skies to develop with highs near 80-85 degrees for the afternoon. Lwr 80's at the beach. High pressure will slide over us Saturday night with clear calm conditions and start to shit off the coast by Sunday. Sunday will be another stellar day of sunshine, low humidity and light winds. Temperatures will be warmer inland, with a better chance of a seabreeze developing Sunday afternoon which will keep temps in the 70's at the coast.

The upper level ridge will hold on as long as it can to keep Monday mostly dry, but I expect late day showers to arrive with increasing clouds along with another front which will keep scattered showers and a few thunderstorms going into Tuesday morning. Fair skies and seasonal temps near 80 is expected for the middle of next week. Have a wonderful weekend everyone!
