NH1 Top 5: Best ranked public courses in NH
Although conditions are certainly nowhere near optimal, golfers across the Granite State are starting to dust off their golf bags, lace up their spikes and hit the links. In the spirit of golf season getting underway in N.H., we took a look at what Golf.com calls the top five public golf courses our state.
5) Bretwood Golf Course in Keene
Bretwood boasts two 18-hole courses, 130 golf carts and a grass-tee driving range. 9 holes with a cart will run you $30 Monday through Friday and $35 on Saturdays, Sundays and Holidays. 4) Owl’s Nest in Campton
Owl’s Nest doesn’t open until May 22, but this course is definitely one to try out during this year’s golf season. Named to the “Top 100 must play courses in New England,” Owl’s Nest offers 9 holes of golf with a cart for $40 Monday through Thursday and for $50 on the weekend on holidays from May 22 through June 30. 3) Breakfast Hill in Greenland
According to its website, Breakfast Hill will be announcing its opening day soon along with rates for the 2015 season. This Par 71, 18-hole course is a great spot to drop in for a day of golf if you’re in the seacoast area. Breakfast Hill’s dining room is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, allowing golfers to grab a bite after a round at any time of day. Click the link above to find out more information.
2) Portsmouth Country Club in Greenland
One of the only places in the state where you can play golf right on the ocean, The Portsmouth Country Club offers 18 holes of golf with several along the Great Bay. The club is classified as “semi-private” because tee times are reserved for members until 10 a.m. when the course opens for the public. 1) Omni Mount Washington Resort Golf Course in Bretton Woods
The number one public golf course in N.H. is the Omni Mount Washington Resort Golf Course in Bretton Woods. The resort is home to two courses, the 9-hole Mount Pleasant course and the 18-hole Mount Washington course, which was designed by Donald Ross in 1915. 2015 marks the 100th year of golf at the course and the course is scheduled to open on May 15.
