BRISTOL — Bristol Police Chief Michael Lewis is currently on paid leave, a town official said Friday.
Bristol Town Administrator Nicholas Coates told NH1 News that Chief Michael Lewis was placed on paid leave beginning Tuesday.
Coates also said that Lewis's approved salary for the 2017 budget is $80,018.
NH1 crunched the numbers and determined that Lewis's leave is costing tax payers about $308 a day and has already cost them over $1,200.
Town officials, as well as county and state investigators, have declined to say whether or not Lewis is currently being investigated.
Lt. Kris Bean is serving as the Police Department’s primary point of contact at this time.
