NH1 News Perfect Prom Dress Drive collects more than 230 gowns for teens in need
CONCORD - The first NH1 News Perfect Prom Dress Drive collected more than 230 donated dresses across New Hampshire and Massachusetts.
Hundreds of viewers contributed to a successful community project. Madeleine's Event Central in Portsmouth donated more than 18 brand new gowns and offered any one who donated a dress a $50 off coupon to their store.
E & R Dry Cleaners donated their services and cleaned each donated dress during one of their busiest times of the year.
Families in Transition, 'OutFITter's thrift stores in Concord and Manchester organized the display of the dress drive for any girls in need in the southern New Hampshire area, offered to attend a special dress fitting on Saturday with the recommendation of a guidance councilor.
Kriss Cosmetics served as a drop-off location.
Dozens of volunteers helped to make this happen. Our thanks to NH1 News anchor Keke Vencil, NH1 News's Krystal Barry.
Girls who were not able to attend that day may still visit OutFITter locations with a voucher from their school and chose any dress and accessories for this year's prom.
