CONCORD – She’s reached a budget compromise with state Republican legislative leaders to end a summer long stalemate, but don’t expect any news soon from Democratic Gov. Maggie Hassan regarding her political future.

Two top Granite State Democrats, who asked to remain anonymous to speak more freely, told NH1 News on Tuesday that Hassan won’t make an announcement at Saturday’s New Hampshire Democratic Party convention regarding her 2016 plans.

The biggest campaign question in the Granite State is whether Hassan will run for a third term for the Corner Office or if she’ll launch a Democratic challenge against GOP Sen. Kelly Ayotte, who’s up for re-election next year.

Hassan has said that she wouldn't make any decision on her political future until the state's biennial budget was completed.
