NH1 News Investigates: VA Medical Center in Manchester complaints mostly unsubstantiated

MANCHESTER - Two years after the scandal emerged over phony waiting lists for patients at the Department of Veterans Affairs, the department is still plagued with problems — including some new accusations of falsified waiting lists at VA facilities across the country.

NH1 News pulled a series of complaints filed against the VA Medical Center in Manchester, specifically at the pain clinic.

In all, 18 complaint reports were investigated, and according to the Office of the Inspector General, 11 showed violations.

The Inspector General's investigation, however, found most of the list of charges were not substantiated.

Only one was proven to be true – excessive wait times.

The report also showed that the issue was being addressed ahead of the investigation.

Federal authorities say they completed 77 criminal investigations across the country – including this one in Manchester.
